Notes :
This is the theoretical organisation of a DLC. It can be used for the 1st to 5th DLCs with the following modifications:
  • 1st DLC :
    No change.
  • 2nd DLC :
    No change.
  • 3rd DLC :
    No change.
  • 4th DLC :
    No 47mm Divisional Anti-Tank Battery .
  • 5th DLC :
    1. One Cavalry Group must be converted to a Bicycle Group by replacing cavalry stands with bicycle rifle stands.
    2. There is no Divisional Anti-Tank Squadron (25mm).
    3. Add one attached Anti-Aircraft Battery (as indicated).

  •
These units were used to screen the French advance into Luxembourg and the Belgian Ardennes. Of course, this made them the first units to meet the advancing Panzer divisions, a situation for which they were clearly too weak.

Morale has been left as random but I would make the first three divisions Regular and the last two 2/3 Regular, 1/3 Green. The first three DLCs were peacetime divisions used as covering forces during mobilisation, so they had the pick of both manpower and equipment. The 4th and 5th DLCs, while created from existing regiments, were raised in 1940 and didn't have as much divisional cohesion.

    Cavalry Brigade :
While the Cavalry Regiment was not formally divided into two battalions, it could (and often did) operate by groupe d'escadrons (Cavalry Group) which functioned as a small battalion. Whether the basic fighting unit is the Regiment or its two Cavalry Groups is up to the player but cannot be changed during the course of a game. In any case, squadrons operate as companies (a squadron was just the cavalry designation for a company).

    Light Mechanised Brigade :
The basic fighting unit is always the battalion. All squadrons operate as companies (a squadron was just the cavalry designation for a company).

    Artillery Regiment :
    Artillery Groups operate as battalions.

    Citroen P 19 Half-Track :
This was an unarmoured half-track : it uses the half-track column for terrain effect on movement but acts as a truck in all other respects.

    Citroen P 19 portee :
The Citroen P 19 portee should be treated as a British portee with a 25/72 ATG but it uses the half-track column for terrain effects on movement.

    Regimental Pioneer Platoon :
These are cavalry or infantrymen with engineering training. Treat as engineers in all respects.
